Language heavily influences our society. The way we speak/communicate or how we try to establish a communication between people who don't understand one another is a big issue in our society. (Correct me if I'm wrong)
So according to what I've learned from the comments on a recent post of mine, the way the deaf community has its "rules" or "guidelines" to get everyone to understand what you're trying to express, is totally different from the speaking one.
In the speaking world, you just use your hands IN ADDITION to the vocals to make your partner understand you. You just shout in anger, you get someones attention from 20 meters away in a crowd simply by shouting. Those things are just naturally happening...
All this is impossible/hardly possible in deaf community. You need exact rules that just EVERYBODY needs to know in order to express things correctly. Also if you meet somebody with a different set of sign language signs, you need a fixed rule on how to communicate your informations. (Again, correct me if I'm wrong)
So now I am asking myself if and how the society of the deaf is different to the hearing. Just think about the difference between people with "cash me outsiiiiide"-style language and people with "Good evening Ma'am"-style.
Again and for the last time: correct me if I'm wrong.
