Just managed to softlock DR4

I know it's not a popular game and I understand why, but I just wanted a bit of mindless zombie slaughter.
Anyway back to the point in hand. The softlock.
When you are on case 6, and have to run upstairs, don't do what I did and go unlock a safe room. It creates a save point, then you fail the case as the person you are chasing gets too far away. Resulting in a continuing circle of failed mission, load checkpoint and fail again.
Had to reset to the start of the case which luckily isn't too far back.
Has anyone managed to self soft lock like this before?
