So. Recently, I've been getting really into games along similar veins as Diablor or Borderlands.
Dead Island sounds like something somewhat close but a fair bit more "grounded" and realistic. Also zombies. Since I'm curious, it's cheap and it was discounted a bit ago at one of the shops I use, I picked it up. After all, even if I don't play it, my brother will.
So. From people more experienced. A few questions.
First: What's the tone?
Blood, gore and tension I can deal with, I've played shit like the Last of Us just fine, for example, but I can be a bit wussy around straight horror. I recall people saying that despite the CG trailer, the game itself isn't specifically what you'd call horror, or at least that the trailer's tone doesn't match the game.
It's something I imagine I can get more comfortable with the more I play, it just affects placement on my priority list.
Second: I'm thinking if I do play, I'll go solo (I'm just not a multiplayer person) and I'm currently split between Purna who seems fun character-wise and sounds like she's good with guns. Keeping my distance always feels good. Or Xian since she specializes in bladed melee and I don't know how much ammo I'll have to work with.
Third: The very typical "Any beginner's tips?" I like to ask when starting any new series.
