final boss of the castlevania DLC does not give a boss cell?

First I defeated the final boss of castlevania with 0 boss cells, and it didn't give me any boss cells, instead, then I killed “the hand of the king” and got my first boss cell.
Can I now with a boss cell beat any final boss from any dlc/walkthrough and get a new boss cell?
