I have seen DBD gameplay here and there for a long time but I never picked up the game because of the infamously toxic reputation the community has, and after putting years into DOTA and League I felt like I was done with toxic online games. Still, I picked it up on a whim and tbh I am having more fun than I thought I would. I started playing just under 2 months ago and in that time I have played DBD almost every day even if it is a short game or 2

With all that as a preface, I will say that overall I am mixed on the game. Playing killer easily has the most engaging moments for me but it also has the most frustrating moments, mainly due to the toxicity. I generally do well as killer just going for hooks. Probably because I am still new and not getting placed against experienced players very often, although that is changing over time. Still, I like to say gg after the match and joke around and have fun if people stick around after the games. I think one of the best thing about online games is being able to do that. In contrast, the majority of the time when I do have a game against high prestige survivors or when the game isn't exactly going my way the survivors are more than eager to let me know in whatever ways they can in and after the game.

Playing survivor is also fun but it is much less engaging which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I typically put on a podcast or something in the background and when I do that I can just chill and play as survivor for hours at a time. The game overall is fun and it does remind me of what I like about online games, but also what I dislike about online games. I never really care about winning or losing to the point that it upsets me. The only time I am not having fun is when the people I am playing with make the game not fun.

P.S. I am sad I missed the Stranger Things content :(
