Why do some survivors basically kill themselves for their friends?

Post Body

This is a genuine question from a Killer main. I have played survivor a good bit, enough to reach Gold 1. But as a survivor, even with friends, i feel comfortable leaving the match at the end and leaving others to their devices. I'll save where i can, don't get me wrong, and don't mind staying for a bit in the collapse to try and bring someone else out IF I THINK I CAN MAKE IT.

I should also note that I'm both not the greatest killer, and don't entirely care for/know of certain in depth expectations for killer. I try not to slug if i can avoid it, its boring. But if you throw yourself at me and expect yourself not to be hit, then so be it. I also don't mind being friendly if i find a survivor i truly respect for how well they played/feel bad for their teammates practically sabotaging them. I also don't typically respect pallets, as lengthening the loop wastes more time. And feels like it also wastes points both killer and survivor side. Get the hit! It really doesn't affect me.

But I'm noticing that a lot of survivors seem to throw themselves at me when I'm playing killer at higher ranks. Trying to taunt and bait me to abandon a chase that I'm about to win, or even (often times fail to) bodyblock me to try and save a teammate.

I find especially that they'll gather in loops, around pallets and become a hoard almost dedicated to hit me with the pallet. Or expect me to respect pallet play (i often just choose to take the hit head on as it lowers the time spent in a chase.) And, if i manage to down one. Survivors almost anticipate me to immediately pick up the downed one, rushing to stand behind me and wait for the animation. But, if i choose to leave them downed for a second to swing or scare them away from the pallet, so i can secure the grab or MAYBE down another if I'm lucky/they're too bold and rush in while injured.

Ill find maybe one or two of you stay on a Gen, while the other two try and keep me distracted/at bay. And at the worst; only one or nobody sits on generators and practically charge at me.

Tldr, my question is: Why do you guys practically throw yourselves at me and result in neglected generators? I feel like it's awnserable with "panic" but that doesn't quite feel exactly right. This is genuine, and I don't mean to come off as rude if i do.
