What build to go for as a beginner survivor?

So, i came back to DBD after a long break, i was a killer main previously and never really touched survivor.

Now that I'm back. I'm actually playing with some friends so i switched over for the first time.

Any tips on what to go for perk wise as a newbie to this side of the game? I prestiged Meg, and I'm working on Dwight for Prove Thyself, but not really sure what to run or what characters to go for.

If there are good DLC character perks, please list them too, as i have a good chunk of the DLC's except for some of the more recent ones or survivor exclusive ones.
