Michael Samson stroked his beard and leant over the marble fencing of the balcony above, peering down onto the slowly amassing group who had arrived for the exhibition on the Salem Witch Trials. This wasn't his exhibit, it wasn't his area of expertise. But with his friend's wife in labour, and Michael owing him a favour for research past, he couldn't say no to hosting it for the first few days. He sighed, drank some wine and let his eyes peer across the displays established for this moment. Letters from persons past, testimonies, transcripts of the court proceedings… Even some items of various natures they had come to learn were involved in some way.
He opens his little black book, reading through his notes from his adventure amongst the Hall of Justice, thinking about some of the persons he had run into and come across, new friends- perhaps. Blitzkrieg hadn't caught on as to who he was, and he was quietly pleased about that. While she was a friend, he liked to keep these two lives separate. Safety not only for his family and friends, but also to de-complicate his life as best he could. Though he had yet to enact any grand-scale and harmless pranks upon people… That would come when he had a better grasp.
He took another drink of the wine within his hand and set the empty glass onto the floor. He turned, walking towards the steps and then descending down it, marble steps covered with a clean rug from several centuries ago, as far as he could work out. He smiled at some of the guests, spoke to more of them, and then cleared his throat with a new glass of wine in hand.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, my name is Michael Samson. I'm covering for Jonas Hertz tonight- and for the next several days- as he and his wife look towards the birth of their first child." A cheer rose, a quiet one, but loud enough that he had to hold out his hands and quell it, a finger to his lips soon after. "Easy, it's a museum."
He continued to speak to the guests, talking for an hour on the events of the Salem Witch trials, highlighting specific items and documents, detailing the history about each one. From the amulet worn by a man accused of being a witch, to a letter between persons outlining how to take advantage of the children's claims.
Hopefully nobody would try and rob the place.
