Apologies if this is long winded but some advice would be appreciated. I had two rooms booked for 5 people for an upcoming trip on the Fantasy this summer. My mother in law has expressed interest in not wanting to go anymore which would mean we wouldn’t need the second room. To save money, we booked one of the kids with my in law. Now to the issue…..
My wife messaged our travel agent stating that there may be interest in canceling one of the rooms. The last line in her email was “what are our options?” We receive an email the next day that the changes have been made, one of the rooms is cancelled and it would cost us an additional $4k just to move one of my kids from the mother in laws room to mine and apparently there is no going back even if my MIL decided she wanted to go. I’m beyond furious that the change was made before giving us options and ultimately letting my MIL decide. If we rebooked all together it would probably be about $7k more. The same room is going for about $2500 now vs when we booked so I’m sure we are paying the higher rate to move a person one room to another.
Any best advice? I’m leaning toward going after the agent for making the move before we said go but is the juice worth the squeeze? Would Disney help out and honor the original price per person given the details bout what happened?
