A lot of people are disappointed in the path Gohan took by choosing his studies instead of continuing to train and tapping into his unlimited potential. Something he could have done instead of abandoning training all together for studies would have been to become an apprentice to the Supreme Kai. I assume the knowledge he would have gained as a Supreme Kai apprentice would have a much more esoteric side versus attending University as he wouldn't actually be attending classes but learning and studying all about the different Universes, Techniques, People, Races and Timelines from the different Kais. He would still train but it wouldn't be focused on developing raw power but maybe on the mental aspect such as being able to extract his full potential like we saw with his Mystic transformation. This falls in line to when Gohan told Goku before the ToP he wanted to be just as strong as him but he would reach it in a different manner. Also it would be awesome to see Gohan looking like this again.
