...will always be one of the more memorable gaming moments for me.

Last night I was enjoying a session of DayZ after not playing for a loooong time. I was decked out with survival gear and heading inland from the north east airfield in search for adventure enjoying the scenery.

What's that, bleeding from a wound? Must've been that zombie in the last village that got the jump on me... Quick bandage and off we go again. Another wound a few hundred meters further? Is there some mechanic that'll occasionally inflict wounds when running through thick undergrowth? Weird...

After the third wound I started checking my gear and lo and behold my boots were ruined. Well I guess I'll have to find new ones in the next village. Got plenty of bandages.

The light started to fade as I was rummaging through the few sheds and lone houses I came across in the next 15 minutes.

After running out of bandages I had to cut all my clothing to rags to bandage the reoccurring wounds. The last silver light of the evening saw a nearly naked man running towards a cluster of houses on top of a hill next to a radio antenna bleeding profusely from multiple wounds.

I never made it. Bled out from having a hole in my boots in one evening.
