If you've ever used a gun before, you'll know that it takes a while to know the ins and outs of it, and then once you're used to a particular gun, using another one can feel strange and difficult to use.

After seeing a post about the bad weapon spread in DayZ SA, a thought popped into my head.

What if the spread decreased over time the longer you held a weapon? Straight away, this creates more of an incentive to stay alive longer, because your weapon's value increases over time.

It also creates an even stronger attachment to your weapon. The M4 in your hands isn't just any ordinary M4, but YOUR M4, and in the zombie apocalypse, it's practically your best friend, so it should mean a lot to you.

I have yet to see a survival game bank on the idea of making your own gear more valuable to you than anybody else's. There's of course still items to gain from shooting over players, taking their gear, etc. but it would be great to have more of a focus on making the special items you have feel even more special to you.

Finally, I guess the last thing to touch on for this subject is balancing; you don't want the spread values to affect gameplay so much that bandits may as well have laser beams shooting out of their eyes, but at the same time, it would be nice to have a little bit more control of our firefights, and have a greater attachment to the gear we own. Maybe spread isn't the best variable to choose, but instead weapon sway, or something like that.

TL;DR - What if we could have less weapon spread the longer we own a weapon?

- More incentive to stay alive

- More attachment to the gear we own

- Should solve spread problems

- Balancing needs to be considered to not make it overpowered
