Question about timelines
Post Body

Hi All,

I'm new to resolve, and pretty new to NLEs in general.

I'm confused about the way clips are sometimes handled in time lines, and when they are referenced in other clips. I've tried googling, but maybe I'm using the wrong terminology.

I downloaded a transition from online, and figured out how to replace the clips with my own. Some of them have an icon like stacked frames on the left side, and I can "decompose in place", others which I'm sure are compound clips, I cannot decompose in place.

And when I copy this clip, the associated video clips are copied to. When I open the clip, it opens a new timeline, and any changes I make there affect all the copies. Any help or links to places I canearn more about this behaviour would be appreciated.
