I am doing pre-editing of a documentary video in Resolve that I will need to send to another person, who will do the final edit. I am doing a basic color grade, and some stabilization on the clips. I have also cleaned up the audio. The other editor will only be cutting together the documentary and inserting the b-roll on top.
Everything was shot in ProRes: what is the best codec to export out for the other editor to finish the project? I am having to send the files electronically (OneDrive), so I am looking for an appropriate codec that will give me the smallest file size possible, while retaining quality.
I have considered H.264 or H.265, however I understand that those are delivery formats. Is there any reason I cannot use them in this instance?
Edit: I am using Windows 11, the person who is doing the final edit is using a Mac. I will have to transcode the footage to something other than ProRes.
