I have had this happen several times and I don't know if I'm overreacting, but I'm perfectly willing to admit if I am.
In my time with OLD, I have had people on apps find me on Facebook. then send me a friend request and also a message to my Facebook DM's. (Not Facebook dating--that's not available where I live--just regular OG Facebook). I find this to be presumptuous and creepy/borderline stalking. I feel like it should be obvious that if I don't answer you on a dating app, I don't want to match with, talk to, or date you.
For context, I live in a fairly lowly populated area compared to the rest of the country. It isn't uncommon for people I've seen on OLD to come up on the "People You May Know" feature, but I wouldn't presume it was ok to reach out and make contact if they hadn't shown any interest or a reply on an app. Even if we'd had a conversation on the app, it still feels...I don't know. Violating? I mean, I know we live in a world where making connections is hard and you sometimes just have to shoot your shot but...damn. Isn't there an unspoken line here?!
In the end, I just end up sending them a message back saying I am not interested and asking to be left alone. Then I block.
