I (31F) started talking to this guy (35M) we seemed to have a lot of chemistry. We have many same interests. We went on a few dates all went well, I went to his place for dinner once, and he has a cute house. Not a lot of furniture but he seems to be buying it as he goes… who cares?

He came to my home and then he started saying things like. “Oh you live in a palace.” “Your palace…” we were having sex and he mentioned how could someone like me like a poor lower middle-class guy like him then he hits me today with these…

“I won't be a good fit. Ultimately, I'd like alot of free flowing communication and it seems to be incompatible. You're also in a way different place. I'm just a poor kid and I think that's probably not a good fit with where you're at. I really like you, so it's tough, but i wish you all the best”

“You're way better off and so hard working. I just want a relaxed existence”

“Yeah, you live in a palace and just a way diff lifestyle. I think we’re just too different.”

It sucks. I was hoping with all of our compatibility’s this would go well. I’m bummed but I’m also upset that someone is basically telling me my desire to create a comfortable life is unattractive. I guess I’m just really looking for encouragement. I’m the last single person of my friend group and I’m finding that I’m withdrawing because while I’m genuinely happy for them I’m also sad I don’t have my person.

Edit to add: He makes about 15k more a year than I do… so that’s not quite an excuse. But his money has to go to different things. He has a 14 year old, a home, 2 vehicles, some debt. I only have a home, car, and No debt.
