When is it appropraite to speak about wanting kids?
Post Body

I know every person and relationship is different but, in your experience, when is an appropriate time to bring up whether or not you both want kids? I'm particularly asking other straight women who do want kids as I think it's more difficult strike that balance; men I date often seem to hear "I want kids" as "I want kids with you specificially and I want to start trying now."

EDIT: I have a follow up question. How do you deal with uncertain answers? Most commonly I've heard some variation on "I don't know. Sometime I think I'd like to, but it seems like a lot of work." which is kinda a non-answer for me. And most of my male friends who are fathers say they hadn't really thought about it till their partner suggested it.
