This question seems so dumb, but I feel like I genuinely need help. I struggle to figure out how to flirt appropriately both in OLD conversations and on the first date. I'm looking for a romantic partner/long-term relationship, and so usually converse about shared interests. These often feel like a platonic, friendly interview than anything flirty. On the flip side, I get the impression that giving compliments about looks or saying something sexually suggestive is a big no-no and makes you come off as a creep or only interested in hookups.
How are you supposed to flirt when looking for something serious?
