Like it or not, we very much live in a culture of swipe right or swipe left when it comes to online dating. Recently I joined the ranks of online dating and Reddit dating after ending a relationship that wasn’t right for me earlier in the year. I found that on Reddit where there was more writing it allowed a somewhat deeper connection quicker with people in general. Using the dating app system turned out to be an experience I found that I very much didn’t like because I felt it was changing me as a person. Unconsciously, I found myself swiping on mainly very attractive women vs taking time to read in depth on who the person was inside which has always been the most important thing to me. Am I alone in this and did the apps actually just bring out my dormant id which I think they’re designed to do. I’ve never thought of myself as having an over active amygdala but maybe I do. Haha
In all seriousness though, I’d love to hear from others experience and and actually how much significance in looks. I mean at the end of the day if we’re looking for forever people, most people aren’t hot after 50.
