I'm trying to remind myself that we're all out here trying to do our best (and I need a good giggle), so I thought it might be funny to share some stories about the silly things we've done on dates.

I went on a first date with a very handsome helicopter pilot a couple of years back. Realistically we had very little in common, other than we both had dogs. We met up at an outdoors brewery. He showed up in khakis and a polo shirt and I showed up in cut-off jeans shorts, a crop top and a pair of Vans. He was very polite and we had two drinks each, although I think we both knew this wasn't going anywhere. When the date started to wear on I guess my brain just kind of short circuited because I told him I had to leave because it was starting to get dark and I hadn't left the lights on for the dog.... I remember him just looking at me like I was insane. We said our good byes and never heard from each other again. I still giggle sometimes when I remember the dumbfounded the look on his face.

The funny part though is that I was dead serious about worrying that I hadn't left the lights on for the dog.
