I’m (53M) on the various dating sites and generally have always had my main photo as one that cleanly shows my face in an attractive way, often with a smile showing teeth, sometimes not.

Recently there was a candid photo taken of me where I’m seated in an outdoor hot tub bubble bath, solo, wet, relaxed with both arms raised up and hands clasped behind my head as I comfortably lean back. I’m not flexing but you can pretty much see everything down to my belly button. I’m not a gym rat, I’m carrying a few extra pounds but my dad bod muscles have some shape. My eyes are closed and I look completely at ease.

I think I look kinda sexy and, despite regularly reading advice that shirtless photos are not appreciated, was curious as to what would happen if I promoted my dating profile with this photo as my main for a while.

Counterintuitively, since changing the photo about two weeks ago, I’ve been getting more matches from actual women in their 40s!
