why do people even consider distance relationships?
Post Body

a few days ago on match, a woman from 2 states and roughly 400 miles away decided to strike up a conversation. (I think I have my settings at 25 mile radius) I responded with, are you visiting or moving to my town? woman: nope, never been there. I decided to respond with "I'm not really looking for a distance thing, good luck with the website" While she took that in stride she responded with "my last relationship was distance and we never went too long without seeing each other but its ok"

I left it at that but it blows my mind that someone would think that's reasonable to reach out!

I'm 40 yo and the last thing I'd ever consider would be a LD relationship.

I suppose this is mostly rant but why on earth would someone want to "meet" a stranger from 2 states away?
