Best way to meet women outside of apps

Hey all.. 47M here and I'm looking for ideas about meeting women outside of online dating apps. I don't like the idea of posting myself like some kind of billboard for the whole world to see. What are some good suggestions for meeting women outside of that? I'm recently single and just want to get back out there.. but seems at this age, online apps are the "only" option.. advice?
