I met a really funny woman on FB dating (oddly enough). Likes the same stuff for the most part. Same sense of offbeat humor, music, movies, books. I was "You could be one of my sisters because we're so similar". Attractive.
She was upfront about her red flags. I believe her ex will probably spend the rest of his life in prison, but he's out on probation. I checked in with both RAINN.org chat volunteer and my therapist about her flags. My therapist was, "Yeah, that's giant so think about this. She has a lot she won't be able to process until he gets locked away if our justice system does its job". I think I could handle it.
She wants to move to the other side of the country after this case goes through which is 100% understandable. I've visited North Carolina but haven't thought about living there. Maybe? But that's neither here nor there.
We meet up for drinks and dinner in a poorly lighted restaurant along the river. Great conversation. We talked for almost 5 hours and I seriously thought it 90 minutes. But about a third of the time she looked like my oldest sister. They have the same haircut and they both share a lot of mannerisms.
I kept thinking, "Maybe it's the light" because sometimes she'd move to change positions and the physical similarity wasn't there.
I told her outside about the weird "you resemble my sister" thing that I had going on. I texted her today to say we should meet up again somewhere else with better light. It's not looking good on my end.
Last year, I went out with three women, that I'd known for 25-30 years, over a short period that all ended badly. That got me to stop dating for a while. The story from that is in my post history. In short, secret meth times two and incest horror story.
