So Im scrolling through my contacts and come across a name, I had to think about for a bit, and then you know that; “ Are that's the one!” moment?

I remembered how this date went. To start we both swiped right on tinder, yes it is a dating app that I used. So we chatted for a while. And he seemed pretty cool, he says to me that he is new to Johannesburg. He seems relatively open-minded and conservative at the same time. And I’m telling myself, okay I need to try something different, don’t look for what I normally do because clearly, that hasn’t worked out so well. So the next morning we keep chatting and I had a few errands to run, I asked if he would like to meet for coffee in between my errands. He agrees

No lie, his pictures were better, but okay Im here now so might as well go through with it. The conversation is okay, this guy has a lot of opinions about a lot of things. he is also more religious than I thought. I mean we all do but generally don’t express them on a first date.

Somewhere in between these opinions, he mentions that his cousin thought I was hot, and I’m like ……. Well how does your cousin know you’re speaking to me, he replies with: I've told him about you and showed him your pictures.

Mind you this is after one evening of chatting, not even a full 24 hours.

We eventually get to the what do you like to do for fun conversation, and I say I’m generally always out and about somewhere during the day or night. We talk about club life for a bit and then he brings up if I have ever been to a swinging club or gay club.

There is a popular gay club that we like to go to sometimes and I say I will let him know the next time we are going

Then he says to me: “would I mind pretending to be his girlfriend so that his family thinks he is seeing someone I am very curious to know what it would be like to be with a guy”

I'm sitting there thinking WTF, but of course, I am nothing if not polite so I said I don’t mind covering for him when he wants to be out or whatever but I don’t want to be seen as a relationship with anyone.

He seemed to take it okay but didn’t stop messaging me for a while although I just didn't respond
