Dating apps as a polyamorous person?
Post Body

I've never tried going the dating app route, but I'm a bit scared to due to my complicated situation. I'm polyamorous and in a committed relationship with two partners (one of whom I live with). This is not something I'm widely out about, and I work in the kind of profession where I don't necessarily want to broadcast that I'm poly (or queer). I've considered throwing together a profile and just casually mentioning it early on in the conversations, but that seems a bit sketchy when I think about how it will look. I want to be upfront with people, but I also don't want to create possible professional trouble for myself down the line. Polyamory isn't a protected status like my orientation or gender identity are, and it's potentially a very minor legal issue in some locales due to antiquated laws. I'm not married to anyone, so it wouldn't be a crime here...but it's still a social taboo.
