What do people mean when they say they want someone with the same goals and values?

Hey guys! It's my first time posting here and this feels like a dumb question but what do people mean when they say this? I'm probably over thinking this but I see this a lot on dating apps and I'm curious as to what people mean by it.

For example, if someone's goal is to buy a house, would I have to say that is my goal as well for them to think we're compatible? Like are they waiting to find someone so they can buy a house together? Like I said, I'm probably over thinking this but I'm curious as to how other people would interpret this statement.
