So I (26M) was talking with this one chick(26F) 1st year of dental school. Def seemed into me (showing good signs etc). After a while, she said the 1st time we went out she didn’t think of a date, and I was just a friend. Of course, I was pissed off, and didn’t really believe that, but I just moved on and saw other people.
3rd year dental school: we’re in the same clinical/simulation group (FML). First week, we were cordial (in fact she was hitting me up randomly and chose to sit with me in linch). 3 weeks in: the most awkward, patience-testing week of my life. Beginning of the week, she and the girl she’s partnered with don’t really talk with me (I asked how was their weeknds, they jus reply OK, without talking to me). Following day, I walk into the room, and they jus become silent and don’t converse with me at all. So evident that they’ve been talking bout me for some reason, and doesn’t sound good. Then, the guy I’m partnered with told me they sat w/ him for lunch (and they never sat w/ me once). Friday: the breaking point for me. This girl and her partner and I are all sitting in a lounge and it’s dead quiet. 10 min in, she takes out her phone and starts talking bout this one guy she’s seeing with the girl. As they’re talking, I see them glancing in my direction (like they tryna illicit a reaction for me). Right now, just taking deep breaths to calm my anger and frustration with her actions.
So, from this description, it just sounds very immature/petty. Many of my friends/acquantances think what she’s doing is foul. But would you say her actions can be perceived as somewhat psychotic (DISCLAIMER: I am an advocatw for proper mental health and this is a serious discussion). She’s talking shit bout me to a girl she doesnt know, is turning her against me, and trying to illicit some reaction from me. She said we’re just friends, but the way she’s acting, it’s as if she’s acting like we were romantically involved/dating. Bottomline: this doesn’t seem like normal behavior.
