Asking her out didn't go as expected

So I (21m) asked out a girl (19f) over text/snap. Specifically,

"I was wondering if you'd like to go out sometime when I'm back on campus?"

Except her response kind of confused me, since it was something close to

"Yeah, sure. I'm rooming with M (20m) this year so B (21f) will probably be over often and we can have shindigs."

Context: M and B are mutual friends who are together.

I'm not sure if she intentionally misunderstood the question in order to spare me, she really didn't get what I was asking, or if I'm misunderstanding her response?

Any insight is appreciated.
