How to be me while texting?

So I've been told I'm fucking hilarious irl. Like all my friends think I'm funny and goofy. Thing is I'm not sure how to do that in texting. Like for example, when I'm typing I dont really know how to show my humor in this format as I'm told "I type and text too formally."
Is there any way I can change this? How could I go about showing my humor via text? How do I stop being formal in text format?
