How do two socially awkward friends move from just talking to flirting?

I’ve (m22) had a friend (f23) for years who I know really well and we get along great. We don’t see each other all that often anymore but every time we do we can talk for hours. I’ve always felt like there’s a chance things could work between us but we are both highly inexperienced when it comes to dating. Frankly I don’t know how to move from just talking to flirting with this person. Tonight she invited me to her house and we ended up just sitting in her basement talking. It got to the point where I had to leave as I have work early tomorrow and nothing escalated. How do I/we take steps in the right direction?
