I'm a college student, and met this girl at the beginning of the year. We quickly became close friends, and have been in constant communication since. We spend a decent amount of time together, and have been on several "dates" throughout the year, without calling them dates. From all of our time together, it really seems as if we both enjoy each other's company and that there is potential for something more serious to come out of it.
I'm thinking about finally asking her if she's willing to take the next step and get in a more serious relationship, but there are 2 things holding me back: it is almost the end of the school year, and we would most likely go about 3 months of only seeing each other a few times, since we live a considerable distance from each other. Also, I do not want my mentioning of this to lessen our friendship in any way. I truly do enjoy spending time with her and would rather not mention it than lose what we've built (this is where the hesitation kicks in).
So, it really comes down to, should I go for it and ask her, or should I wait it out until a different time in the future?
