I guess I'm just getting unlucky. I don't want a romantic relationship to be the main focus of my life but the lack of one is really distracting and distressing honestly. I don't know where to even meet people so I guess I'm just curious where other people did. I really, really don't want to use dating apps but it seems inevitable. I say I'm unlucky because I already do a good amount of things, there's just no girls around. In the past two years I've only met one (available) girl who I was interested in, but she's my coworker and the risk of that is too high. I honestly don't even know if I like her either, or if I'm just very desperate at this point. I'm only 23, I'm not unattractive or very unlikable, I'm not a bum or anything. I think if I met a girl under the right circumstances I should have no problem dating, but I can't get my foot in the door anywhere. During school years/college there were plenty of opportunities but it took me many years to break out of my shell. Some of my (female) friends suggest I go to a yoga class or something but to me it feels so wrong do something like that just for the sake of meeting girls. I already do quite a bit of volunteering at three different places, I go to the gym, I work, and I go to the library to study. I feel bad asking my friends to set me up because I feel like a moocher. I'm always going to their parties and stuff and never really bringing any new people or having my own events. I'd like to hear some examples of where other people met.
