28f on 3 successful dates with a 28m. He’s really cool and fun, so am I. I know he likes me physically, we seem to laugh a lot, and I’ve spent the night at his place twice.
Now the issue is that he’s had a recent break up and last date he mentioned being cognizant of him figuring things out while also being in the moment. I reassured him that we should enjoy ourselves and see what naturally is.
In between our dates both times I’ve been nervous about our texting. We’re both busy with friends, hobbies, work, school. He’s not a great texter so I’ve just refrained from leaning on it, preferring to hang out in person. I’ve even made attempts to be more casual and ask “what are you up to tonight? Should we have a late night snack?”
But both times, the energy in person was great.
We made plans for a Saturday afternoon- not super exciting but by then it would have been 10 days since our last date. On Friday night he texts me that he needs to replenish his social battery and needs to cancel. On sat morning I respond that I needed the downtime too and to lmk when he is free as I’ll be a bit busy this week. He replies thanking me and that he’ll get back to me when he looks over his schedule. On Monday night (last night) I text him to say that I definitely slowed my weekend down for mental health and hoped his was nice too.
It’s Tuesday, but tomorrow would mark two weeks since our last date. And all our dates have had long distances between them (12 days, 19 days, now at least 15/17). It’s been 3 days….
I guess I imagine that the people I’m seeing are friends and their lives do change and I’m not at the epicenter of them. I know if a friend rescheduled id be kind and gracious, but I can’t help but wonder if my gut is on to something where someone who has slept with me should be excited to see me again and want to do it again???
Anyways- I’d be sad because I think this person is cool but I need to start asking myself: is this worth my time? Am I being overly critical or am I catching onto something that might be a dealbreaker no matter how good the time irl is?
