My girlfriend (based in another country) recently experienced heartbreak of the worst possible kind, as her dog recently passed away in her arms owing to complications having to do with old age.

As a result, she has been sad and not in the mood to do much, understandably enough, which is why I would like to get her a gift, that brings a smile to her face, or at least makes her feel better.

Can any kind soul around here, come up with some ideas that I can make use of under the aforementioned circumstances? I am happy to try anything, apart from flowers (only because I get her enough of them already, and I would like to try something new).
