Set the scene for context. I'm 38. Larger guy. Not handsome but not a troll. Tatted and bearded.

At a bar. 3 or 4 lines of people. 1 line had some rowdy guys. Behind them and next to me was a nice looking chick. Maybe 22/23 Rowdy guys turned around and tried chatting her up and being creepy.

She looked to me and moved closer and touched me on the arm. I said hello and she leant in and whispered pretend to be my uncle or friend. First thing that popped into my head to say out loud was "are you coming for Christmas lunch"

Pretty much instantly the rowdy guys turned around and lost Interest. She said thankyou. Said that's alright. Any time. We got drinks and left separate ways at bar.

Here is what I need advice about. Did I creep or do anything wrong. About an hour later while walking through the bar area to the bathroom I saw her again. She looked at me. I said "hey, are you having a good night".

She gave me the look that said I have mace in my bag and I'll scream if you come closer. I shrugged. Walked past and that was it.

Am I in the wrong. Or was it purely that i wasnt of use in that moment and i dont fit the look of someone she would hang with or want to be seen with. I was being friendly. Not trying to chat her up or anything. Just a familiar face with a common story.
