The question is the title. To give some context I'm 27 and read a lot of dating advice (to much honestly) as I do want to be in some kind of relationship. Two of the more common pieces of advice is to instead of approaching random women anywhere go to social events and talk to everyone. The part that's normally not said is you have to ask the women out after "reading the room".
Also I realized recently that I really do have to develop a broad, and probably shallow, pool of mix gender friend groups to facilitate meeting women.
Anyway I recently read some advice about where to meet women. I ran across the soical event advice and I realized the commontor never actually stated what a social event was or how to find one. The post was a few years old so I obviously can ask them so I figured I just ask random people online.
