I (21F) just switched departments where I work and started working with this guy (22M). He’s always been nice to me, but since working together I feel like it’s become more than that. Yesterday he bought me lunch, despite my protests and saying I’ll pay him back, he wouldn’t let me. He also surprised me with boba yesterday, after we talked about it a few times last week and he knows how much I love it. We live in the US for context. He knows I’m taking a big trip next month going to the UK to meet some family members for the first time. I’ll be gone for almost the whole month. Suddenly yesterday he brought up the fact that he’s thinking about taking a trip to the UK for his birthday now….which happens to be next month while I’m there. He said we should meetup while he’s there. I first started suspecting something might be up when our boss made some comments to me about “hmm you guys are close in age” despite the fact that two of our coworkers are 19 and 23. Truly, I am confused here. I’ve been told in the past that I’ve mistaken friendliness for flirting and vice versa. I don’t want to mess this up if it’s actually just him being friendly. I do like him, but don’t want to peruse it if it’s all just in my head.
