I (26M) only started dating for the first time in April of last year so it has been a completely new experience for me. Now almost a year later and about 15 guys later, it's been nothing but bad luck, heartbreak and confusion. I always end up in 1 of 3 scenarios:
1- I wish I could make myself fall in love with you, I wish it could've worked out because you're very kind, nice, handsome, awesome, genuine, you're rare, you are the most amazing guy, you have an incredible vibe as a person.
2- I don't feel like dating is for me right now.
3- ghosted after talking for a week, a month and/or after 1 or 2 dates where it felt like the chemistry was there and we had a really great time.
If things didn't work out with a handful of guys I wouldn't really be that frustrated but when you've talked to/gone on dates with 15 people and none of them have stuck you start to question if there is something wrong with you and if you're doing something wrong.
I had a 4 month long relationship in the middle of this dating journey that never really felt like a real relationship and ended with him telling me he couldn't develop feelings for me but would constantly tell me things like:
"you just existing makes me feel great",
"you make me so happy and bring stability in my life and in me",
"what I have with you is rare"
What could I be doing wrong here? I am usually the one to come up with and plan the dates, I always offer to pick them up/drop them off, I love to talk so it's rare that I've ever ran out of things to talk about on a date and I try to keep it light and fun instead of making it feel like an interview, I pay for the first date since I am the one that plans it usually, I always follow up with a text afterwards to tell them I had a great time.
