I (F20) am having trouble finding good partners in my area because of being a single mom. Am I doing something wrong?

When I go out with friends, or even on dating apps, things start off pretty well, and then the moment I mention I have a kid, guys start to either greyrock or ghost, and it's pretty obvious why. It's the minority that don't mind, but unfortunately with that minority, dates didn't go well.
Do you have any advice on this case, please, or am I doing something wrong to tell at first?
