Why have I had such horrible luck with dating apps?

Just turned 20(male) and have been using Tinder, Bumble, and Hinge for the past 5ish months now. A few matches on Tinder but no one ever messages back, a match every now and then on Bumble but is says they have to message first and they never do, and then 2 matches on Hinge which I've only been using for about 3 months. What am I doing wrong here? I wouldn't say I'm good looking or anything but the two people I have matched with have both said I'm really nice and they did like me. I'm really not sure what I can do better to make my experience on any of these apps better. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.
