To send her the letter or burn it?
Post Body

(Context me = 37M)

I recently had a falling out with a friend (35F) of four months, after I realized romantic feelings were developing for me and not for her.

Her commentary: You're attractive and have a bunch of very desirable qualities, but I don't feel romanticly about you and I don't choose those feelings. (As our last phone call came to a close we were both in tears, and upset, She asked if knowing how this turned out if I would have still taken the time to get to know her? "Everytime, because it would always be worth the heartache to know you.")

I took that blow pretty hard; She had made it a point to consistently share with me that the synchronicities between us were uncanny, and that she didn't know what to make of them. (Same precise taste in obscure 2000's films, musical tracks, video games, same yoga studios, swimming pools, restaurants, coffe bars, etc.) We somehow missed meeting up all of last year until our schedules finally synchronized this summer when she changed jobs.

Now this could all just be random coincidence and the similar taste in pop culture media could be heavily influenced by our similar ages.

As a means to getting my feelings in order and under the guidance of my peers I wrote a goodbye letter that I had intended to burn/destroy after completion.

However now that I have it, it feels like one of the most complete pieces of mixed media art I've ever created: Custom insert, a visual art piece, the actual goodbye letter, a full spoken word piece, and a QR code Spotify link to a playlist made up of all the music we'd shared with each other.

What would you do?:

Burn it to ashes?

or

Hand it off if I see her around town this month?

TLDR: Lovestruck man wonders if his final sentiments should be shared after unrequited love was the answer; or burned at the pyre and given back to the earth and the stars?
