So around a week ago I (25M) started texting with this girl (26F). We connected because we had something in common at our workplace but don't directly interact with each other at work in any way.
We initially started talking about work and gradually about our lives, shittalking, banter, getting to know each other. I was really taken by her personality so I told her that I find her really cool and if she wanted to hangout sometime next week. She said 'Why not, that'll be good'
After a day or two I just joked that if our first date we don't find each other we'd just be good friends and she explicitly said 'Date?! Isn't that too soon' and proceeded to tell me that she was seeing someone but doesn't know where it'll go. I wished her best of luck for her relationship and hope it works out. She said 'lets see'
I apologized for being so direct and maybe I misconstrued our friendship into something else. She said its totally fine and we continued talking like normal. Once or twice she mentioned we should still meet to get to know each other.
Now I don't know what this means, as in, is she keeping me as a second option just incase, or just considers me a good friend to have or reciprocates the same feeling and but is kinda on the fence?
It is worth nothing that she's a bit slow to reply and replies to me like 10-12 hours after I text her or maybe even the next day. I try to keep the same time gap as well so as to not appear to be too available.
Any advice would be so much appreciated. I really like this girl from what I know of her (we have some friends in common so we did know of each other before we started talking. So its not somebody completely random)
