I've been wanted to ask this girl out who is in my program at school. We are both in a smaller department and I have known her for almost a year. I started liking her a few months ago and I want to ask her out on a date. I've never really asked anybody out on a date before, things have just fallen into place before before, so I'm a newb.
So we are both around this summer but I actually don't see her alot as we've both been busy doing things....
So my question is, is it okay to ask her out by text? I've wanted to ask her out in person but I haven't mustered the courage or really seen her to even ask (but I know shes around).
Previously I have attempted to do things with just me and her such as hikes, lunch etc. but I wasn't straightforward in asking if just me and her could go, when I have suggested things she usually asks other people if they want to come too.
When I finally ask should I say something like " Hey, do you want to do something with just me like going for a drink, dinner or bowling?" or should I specifically say, "do you you want to go out on a date with me?"
Thanks in advance for any help, I'm really not good with these sorts of things and if I don't ask her out I will be kicking myself for not trying.
