How to be comfortable with the fact that most people will lie to you when your trying to get to know them, and how to build a bond without taking them seriously

So, since most people tend to lie out of fear or insecurity or just to look good, how to I build trust with them so they can start being honest, without taking them seriously or being offended by the fact they expect me to be honest when they are too scared to do so?

Also I am not looking for the "don't date liars" nonsense, as anyone who spends any time with people know that 99% of people lie on the regular and expect/ want others to be honest, and I kinda want to learn to be more understanding of this without my hatred for manipulation and deception getting in my way.

This is for friends and relationships.
