Hey Reddit,
I’m a 47-year-old guy, recently separated after a long marriage. My wife had an emotional affair (and possibly physical too), which has left me feeling pretty broken and unsure about where to go from here. After some soul-searching, I’ve realized it’s time to focus on moving forward and rediscovering myself. But… I have no clue how to ease back into the dating world.
Dating has definitely changed since I was last single. There’s all the online stuff, which seems intimidating, and then there’s just the general fear of putting myself out there again after the hurt of the separation. How do I start dating without feeling overwhelmed or getting caught up in the baggage from my marriage?
I’d love to hear advice from others who’ve been through something similar or anyone who can give me some insight into modern dating as an older guy.
Thanks in advance for your help!
TL;DR: Recently separated 47M, wife had an emotional affair. Looking for advice on how to ease back into dating in today’s world.
