So... Recently tried dating apps (I hate them) because I'm home but my social circle from back in the day isn't and I haven't found a place to practice my hobbies woth others yet. Now, I'm a bi guy, and I'm curious how that affects my chances compared to if I were to label my profile or restrict my preferences. Now I'm not asking about biphobia against bi guys (which is probably a thing and any young person who is biphobic in our year of 2024 can go fuck themselves). I'm asking because a female friend of mine struggles with getting dates when she sets her profile to girls but hooks up rather easily with guys. And that my likes are disproportionately from guys. And given there's no way I'm paying for the premium version of half a dozen apps, I'm curious to know whether it is "punishing" me algorithmically speaking. Now obviously there's no way to know without looking at the code but I'm curious to know what people's experience is.
