Am I wrong for leaving my girl for having a too close guy best friend?

My and my girlfriend were probably together for 3 months before I realized she had a too close relationship with her guy best friend. It was clear to me that she was just keeping him around because she wanted the validation and had a place to go if me and her didn’t work out. They were both flirty with eachother and talked just as much as we did, am I right for leaving her when I did?
