I loathe bars and clubs. Where else do people hang out to have fun?

As the title says I absolutely hate bars and clubs. I have some PTSD and can't really handle crowds or loud anything. Where else can I go to meet people? With todays society it's considered super creepy to just approach women, and I really don't want to freak someone out. Online dating seems to be mostly just a scam now. There has to be another way. Any advice?
