I am probably showing my age when raising this topic. Pre internet and apps I used dating agencies. I am from the UK. Some agencies would specialise in certain parts of the countries and would send monthly lists of members in the post. Pre mobile phones if you liked a profile you could send a response by the post to the agency who would forward it the member. As mobile phones became commonplace profiles would have mobile phone numbers. Some agencies would have you fill a questionnaire about the type of person you were looking for and given details of members who matched your criteria.
When the internet came, the agencies I used stopped and didn't transfer online. I would like to ask the following -
Have you used pre internet dating agencies.
If you have used them, what were your experiences. I constantly hear on Reddit how useless OLD and apps are. Were pre internet dating agencies just as useless or did you have better luck.
Did pre internet agencies have the same issues as OLD and apps. For instance, there is a male to female imbalance in OLD. Did the same issue exist with pre internet agencies.
Have you come across instances of pre internet agencies transferring to online.
